This is Vendetta version 1.2.6.

Changes from 1.2.5.4:
- Added "Hive Hunt" missions
- Added "Find the Stronghold" mission
- New trading convoys throughout the universe
- Border Patrol now assigns 15 bots per player instead of 3,
  and does not add additional bots for new group members

It's pretty b0rked right now:(

The trade convoys apparently take up too much cpu when there are lots of players online. This caused the Deliverator process to get really far behind and finally crash. Because of the way it died and the fact that we don't want to have to restart the server again, there are lots of bots that should be in its control that aren't. We restarted the Hive, but we're going to wait on the convoys until we can profile and optimize whatever is costing so much cpu time. The new missions are available in the Xang Xi stations in Sedina. There is a problem with the mission menu not updating often enough, so you may find that, having taken a Hive Hunt mission, you get no messages or rewards for what you were supposed to do. We hope to fix this *very* soon.

I just took a Hive Hunt mission. The mission didn't work, however the bots AI is now great fun. It feels far more like fighting players now than fighting "dodge every bolt of energy and ignore rockets" AI. Now they dodge energy and rockets but in a manner far more like humans. They don't dodge absolutely everything and they don't sit back at 100m and spam the hell out of you. It almost feels like they make mistakes now. I haven't had so much fun botting ever. I hope this is the way it is intended to be and I hope my little battle wasn't a fluke.

The bot AI is improved. They avoid rockets and such now (or, are supposed to).. but unfortunately that's about the only positive outcome of this release so far :(. Everything else broke in unexpected ways, and around 2am we just gave up and left it for another day. Some things will probably be fixed this weekend, others not until next week. Honestly, we had even tested a lot of the things that broke, they just ended up performing unpredictably in production. Oh well. Such is the life of software development.

Once we get this all working properly, it'll be a lot cooler. The new NPC traders and escorts are pretty neat, I think.

Gah, and im missing all the fun, stupid PBC, and damn that one day warning, heh, im gunna have to set up some kinda calander script to email me 5 days before I expire next time I think >.<

Yeah, I think that Hive Hunt worked for me for about 2 minutes. I got a few kills which awarded Combat XP in addition to the normal Light/Heavy XP for the bots. Then it stopped, probably when Deliverator crashed that second time.

On another note, which is less demeaning as a short name for Deliverator: Deli, or Hiro?

Anyway, the only problem I found was the exit docks jams. I even got attacked by escorts while still inside, because I kepy bumping against their trader. Never died in there, but once I came out of dock at 56% hull.

Apart from that (I didn't try the missions coz I heard they were not working as I logged on) I liked what I saw. Couldn't beat a single Hive bot though ><

The SMV Nemesis keeps spawning inside the Skycommand Station in Sol II, kinda funny yet, annoying :(

I like how when the NPC traders bump into eachother they get the same timp-KOS that a player would. It was rather humorous to watch a pair of TPG moths get splattered by a Valient SF in Dau N2 for a wee little docking mistake. =P

I like the mods to the BP mission, but have a question....

What happens if one or more players of the same faction take the BP mission, and then don't go ?

I did the Serco mission, while there were Itani players. Once they left the sector, by force or volition, no bots spawned to replace them.
Did I just not wait long enough?

wait if you kill the bus transports while in a bus yourself, does it actually count towards getting a bus hunter badge?
