Just to be clear, I'm not advocating that Vendetta turn into Craftetta. Rather, I think there should be a closer partnership between traders and warriors, as there is in real life.
Does the battlefield soldier invent the next super weapon? No, a scientist does.
Does the soldier go to a machine shop and build the super weapon? No, a machinst does.
Does the scientist that invents the super weapon also stand guard outside the lab? No, that's what trained guards do.
Does the machinist march off to battle? No, that's what soldiers do.
In other words, it takes the combined skill and efforts of all involved to be successful. This is the kind of teamwork that could really make some guilds, or alliances between guilds, really powerful.
