We didn't get it done tonight, but Andy is going to come in on Saturday and complete the release. At that point in time he'll post instructions about how to connect to the game on the test server.
The Hive itself seems to be working pretty well. Ray and I worked on improving the Leviathan tonight, and it seems pretty good to go as well. So, once Andy signs off on the whole new-code migration process (which is not a minor thing at all), we should be set. We'll keep you all posted :).

eeeeeyeahuhmerrr.... so, i'm on slowest dial up in the world... how big can we expect update to be?
Well, I would expect at least several megabytes since it is most likely going to need to update media.rlb
The last update was several megabytes yet saw the introduction of no VISIBLE content changes. I bet that all the textures and meshes and junk were in that update and that this one will be fairly small, if at all. It might even be a nonupdate, with us just conencting to a different server and being done with it...
There's simply been too much new code and subsystems added to the game for us to risk hurting the production universe, or seriously breaking things.
Sooo...could this mention of Subsystems possibly be the addition of a Equipment slot? ;)

Or more likely "subsystems" relating to the code and the hive. I imagine implementing sector clearing and swarming behavior took a lot of new code.

I dunno. I stole the Leviathan number from bobsin, and I figure that I'd be destroyed bunches of times by the same leviathan, hence the repetitiveness.

All right, here we go. Patch up, and log in; but use test:username instead of your normal username when logging in and you will connect to zarniwoop, our internal test server. Then, once you've connected, be sure to ask everyone "is this the test server?"
The Hive is operating in Sedina currently with a higher rate of expansion than specified in the Wiki. Once you kill the Leviathan, the bots will all start to explode, except the observers will regroup into a new stronghold six hours later in a different (empty) sector.
