How do I appooint Lts. ?
We want to make some changes in our guild, and previous guild commanders have been able to add or remove the Lt. position pretty much at will, regardless if the player(s) were online or not.
I need to switch a couple folks around, and when I try to "appoint" them, it tells me that one of the players is not online, and I find no options at all as to how to remove someone from the rank of Lt.
So... How do I go about doing this ?

Look... I'm not trying to be stoopid here. :)
I tried all the reasonable options via the "/guild <option>" command... and still no joy.
If adding and removing Lts from a commander's point of view has changed, or works differently than what I grew up with as a noob, then I'd like to know...
Thanks again and best regards

well I'd tell how to do this, but I honestly don't know. Just a suggestion though, this is a forum, and not a chat room, while we'd like to give answers quickly, it's entirely likely that the people who know are sleeping, or otherwise occupied, so you may have to wait a bit longer than two hours to get an answer.
try /guild if you already havent, it should display a list of commands
To remove someone from a lts they have to be voted out by your council, which can be very hard to do, as all the council members must remain online (and so must the lt you want to be demoted) while the vote is completed, its easy to appint (/guild appoint "player name") but not to remove, but the player you want to make into a lt musty be online (its never worked anyonther way).
If you find it hard to shuffle your ranks, you can make a request here http://vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/7/9899 for the powers that be to do the shuffling for you, but again, you may have to wait a while for the request to be completed.

Our old Commander Tashazar was able to appoint and remove LT's at will... and she did so almost weekly. If she was able to remove LT's why can't TheLadyWhitecat?
Thanks all for the answers.
DragonEmpire is exactly right. I guess I didn't explain myself clearly enough when I made the first post.
Right now, the way it appears to work, is that the person who is a Lt. has to resign from the position, and then the other person who is to be promoted to a Lt. has to be online and I have to use the "/guild appoint <name>" command.
It hasn't always been this way as DragonEmpire said. Has something changed that was not in any of the news or release notes?

You could always boot an Lt from the guild and later invite them back in.
no you can't. same holds for council members.
It was my understanding that the commander, LT and council have to work together. This means that no position is more powerful than the others.
The commander can appoint council and LTs but to remove them takes either a) a resigination or b) a vote of 5 council members.
The council votes last 24 hours so you can use the MOTD to help organize your council.
If you don't have a functional council please post in the roleplaying forum in the thread "I'll update the player guilds .." http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/7/9899
I have the ability to promote and demote guild members, add the guild web site link and edit the guild description.
