Hey everyone, here's (yet another) Vendetta movie, this time with a more cinematic, trailer-type twist. I apologize for the low frame rate, my poor CPU was fried between running the screen cap app and Vendetta in windowed mode. I did get some nice shots I was very happy with, including some of the new features.
edit: Nya13 is kindly hosting it here for the moment: http://thehawks.free.fr/Vendetta_movie.mov
By the way, that's a1k0n in the Valkyrie ;)
Let me know what you think... these are basically the shots/storyboard I had in mind if a Vendetta trailer was ever made... with better quality of course

Wow, that's really cool. Very artsy, even. But yeah, do it over on a faster computer. :P
WOAH!! Holy crap that was cool!

Seriously that was kick butt.

Yah, very well done, except for the small resolution and the low FPS of the game play. My only complaint is the font is a bit weird at the current size, but a higher resolution would definitely fix it. (very very well done)
=) wonderful!
hehe, the low framerate made me feel like I was watching an old kung fu movie...

Wow - That's really good! Nice cuts, it looks like you actually had it storyboarded and everything, much better than mine with absolutely NO plan whatsoever. Heh.
See if V'Shjaar can host yours as well, we can keep all the movies in one spot.

Hey, thanks guys... wasn't expecting such positive feedback.
Now imagine what I could do with a better PC
/starts "give phaserlight a better computer fund" ;p

OK, seriously, can I order a DVD when you get the quality up?
That was Awesome! Great soundtrack as well, really put you in the mood.

very well done! This makes me want to make a movie ;]
Wow, well done. I really loved the sound, great job.
Good film.
Although, wouldn't a faster computer just allow you to produce the film faster? Unless I'm not understanding how you made this, you could have gone with really great quality (despite limitations from your CPU), it would have just taken a very long time.
Anyway, good film. I enjoyed it.

It depends on the process used to make the film, in this case since it was video capture of actual gameplay, in order to get high quality (as in, high resolution & high framerate) would need a faster computer. The problem is that the game is played in real-time, so the video capture of the game needs to be fast enough to capture it in real time. When you increase the quality of the video capture, it takes longer, which means it doesn't keep up with the gameplay, and suffers in framerate.
There are other methods of making videos on computers that can produce higher quality video simply by dedicating more time to it (like spending 1 minute of computer time to generate 1 second of video), but video capture isn't like that because in order for video capture to work well it needs to be done in realtime.
But even w/ the low video quality, it was a excellent video. Good job, Phaserlight. I'd be interested to know what the specs are on computer you did it on.

Wow that was damn good... hell even with the slight frame rate problem id say its fit for people to see. Especially the frigate scene, that was damn good and gave a real sense of size.
Wow, that was awesome (FPS aside). Great job!
Now if only they could turn that into a CG intor and put it in game, Unfortunately the Kung Fu music doesnt give me that kinda of goosebump feel, that kinda feeling that says, " I must know more!"
Man... That was gorgeous.
I wonder if the devs could include more music like that. The feel of the game could be changed so drastically by more ethereal music definitely with a beat.

Sweet !! When combined with the beat of the music (in the first part) and the
percussion sounds in the second part, it seems as if the "slow" framerate was
actually done on purpose, for effect. Nice work indeed !!!

looked great, Phaser! Now do it again with higher framerate and higher resolution :)
