Thanks everyone, you are making me want to invest in a better computer, heh.

Right now I am using an 800 mHz iMac desktop with OpenGL. Snapz Pro X2 was used to capture the footage. The clips were then edited with iMovie (great app), adding transitions, soundtrack, and titles. My brother owns a much better computer (a pc), but for some reason the only screen cap software I've found for PC saves to .avi instead of quicktime, which comes out looking truly god-awful (aliasing like crazy).

The music is arranged by Kiyoshi Yoshida, featuring traditional Japanese-style "Taiko" drumming. I like the stark simplicity of the drums and flute in contrast of the distant future. Something different, I guess.

I started this as more of a brainstorming, "you get the idea" thing... if the devs (or anyone with a better computer for that matter) wants to recreate any of the shots, by all means do so. I also had in mind some possible introductions for each nation... maybe I'll make that my next project.

Taiko drumming appeals to Itanis. Electronic music would appeal to the Serco. :) If you guys want me to make some Serco music for a trailer.. let me know. UIT's don't listen to music :P

My group has some music up at www.soundclick.com/scrapex

btw, Very cool composure, Phaserlight.

Yeah... the file seems to have dissapeared before I got to it.

Hehe okay... you guys seem to have depleted my streamload dl limit for the month... I'll see what I can do about finding some other place to host it. V'Shjaar, if you're still around, are you still updating that "Vendetta Movies" site?

i just did a test recording using snapz pro's demo. i was rather impressed with the recording quality my computer was able to dish out. so phaserlight, look foward to me making an attempt to out do your trailer! :D

i will probably fail, but hey.. it will give me something creative to do

Heh, this inspired me to start filming stuff too. What I've got so far is less a trailer and more something that only people in game can relate too.. but it should be interesting.

I think Phaser should get an ingame medal: "First pilot to create good movie" ;]

It should look like an oscar.

Yeh good thinking.

No, Phaserlight isn't the first to make a good movie. His is most definitely excellent, but there have been other good movies already. They should all get medals. ;-)

Ok, best movie so far gets the oscar medal. Periodically it would change hands as better movies got made ;]

This trailer looks like a potentially spine-tingling piece. It's so low quality! :(

I know you'll come out with a nice one, and perhaps you'd wanna get the combat footage more and more intense as the trailer progresses.. I've got some great ideas, but I've got no tools to get it going.. :(
