VO on gear vr/go still supported?

I bought the game on the oculus store planning to carry over my progress there if i felt immersive, i kept running into the issue of “could not install VO” message. This is a common issue in the Gear vr app store as i’ve encountered this before, the problem is, all possible fixes that would work on other apps would not work here and i’ve started to wonder if the game is still supported on the gear vr and oculus store? Would love to hear from Vendetta online VR players too.

As far as we're aware, the game is working great on the Go and GearVR? We've actually tested it on the Galaxy S6, S7 and Go within the last week. We've never stopped supporting GearVR or the Go.

I'm perplexed by your "Could not install" message. Is this an "Oculus Store" type message? Or something you're seeing from our game on runtime?

I have seen occasional strange behaviour with the Oculus Store wanting to re-install the game periodically. and then failing, and then needing a reboot. This happens even after the game is installed for the first time. As far as we are aware, it has nothing to do with the game itself.

There is also merit to making sure you have some free storage space on the device.

I am also experiencing this issue. I have GearVR SM-R325 and a Galaxy Note 5. I had it installed, but I was forced to reset the entire phone. Now that I am back up and running, I cannot play VO. It downloads, but when it gets to the install, it say Could Not Install "Vendetta Online".

Is there any way at all you could get a screenshot of this "Cannot install" message? Knowing where in the store it appears *might* help the devs out?

I've had hell with my GearVR and the Oculus store recently. Had to wipe my phone, and let it re-install all the apps after, then went to the oculus store to install VO and it just wouldn't. I tried a couple of different games, and a couple would install fine, but a couple of others from my library also wouldn't. Oculus support basically said to buy a new device. No, it isn't really possible to get a screenshot of the error (you would have to be quick) and even if I could there would be nothing at all that the devs could do with it (it is basically a progress bar, then failed, then install button - I'm sure Incarnate knows).

I fixed it by resetting my phone again, and rather than signing in with my google account on the first setup, I skipped that step so it would not re-install all my previously installed applications. I then signed in with my google account, docked the GearVR and let it install the needed things before I let anything else get installed. This time around VO and the other games would install fine, and I started to install all my other needed applications and then blam, again, found another VR title that refused to install, so removed VO out of curiosity (and I'm not playing anyway, I just like having it handy in case a friend wants to try VR), and now it will not install again. Yes it is the Oculus store that is refusing to install it. I have plenty of free space (just over 12GB in Internal and about 20GB on sd), and I have not rooted the device or anything of that nature.

I'm sure something I've installed, or removed, or done has somehow broken it. I've tried removing the Oculus framework, letting it re-install, removing all GearVR apps and except for resetting the phone again nothing seems to work, but it is not VO specific. I also could not install VR Karts: Sprint, Hypercade or my video player but I could install Ultrawings, a few free titles I tried and it's a bloody mystery as to why.

[edit]

I managed to get VO to install by navigating to BOTH the internal and external storage, and finding the com.guildsoftware.vendettagearvr folders and deleting them from both the data and obb folders. I noticed the folders were still present, so at a hunch deleted the ones from Internal, but it still didn't install, so I had to remove the folders that are created by the Android system on my SD card too (empty as far as I know? I've never moved vo to SD). I've fed this back to Oculus, but as they have been as much help as an inflatable submarine so far I don't expect much, so if you are having problems, check your SD card doesn't contain a com.guildsoftware.vendettagearvr in BOTH /sdcard/Android/data and /sdcard/Android/obb - and if it does, delete the com.guildsoftware.vendettagearvr folders (they were empty in my case but if you moved VO to SD they may contain files you might want to backup) and reboot. Seems to have worked here for all the apps I'm having issues with... your mileage may vary.
