Oculus Go Controller and Secondary Weapons
I remember playing this game a long time ago, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it available for the Go. I was skeptical about using the Go controller for control, but it feels incredibly natural when piloting. I'm using aim to fly, with the HUD fixed to the cockpit, and it really does feel like I'm there in the seat. Well done on the VR conversion for this game (I know I'm a little late to the game).
I can do everything I need to with the go controller - full maneuverability, targeting, selecting, navigating the menu - it all works great for me. The only thing I can't figure out is secondary weapons.
I just got a ship with 2 small weapons and one large one, which I've outfitted with a missile launcher. I have the default port mapping on, so primary button is for the two smaller weapons, and secondary is for the missiles. However, the go controller only has the one trigger, which is mapped to primary.
What I'd like to do is keep auto-fire enabled for the cannons, and reserve the trigger for the missiles. I tried messing with the binds in the controls menu, but I ended up messing up the go controller settings, so I was forced to remove and reinstall the app. Is there any safe way to customize the go controller?
Also, there are a few button presses that the game doesn't take advantage of. The Go controller touchpad has the analog surface, but it can also detect separate clicks for up, down, left and right - not just the one click used for targeting in the game right now.
If it's possible/feasible to work in a proper go controller mapping option, it could really open up options for customized controls.
Thanks for the great game!
