I am looking to get a new phone, and the ability to play VO in VR with said new phone is a must. This made me wonder, other than the Gear VR, what phone based VR systems does VO support?
afaik, only GearVR and Google's DaydreamVR devices are supported for actual phones.
Daydream has been officially killed by Google, don't go down that road.
GearVR was alive up through the Galaxy S10, and perhaps the S10+, but has been kill as of the Note 10.
We don't know any details of anything beyond what's publicly been written in the press, but it looks like phone-VR is largely dead, at least for the moment.
You could buy a Galaxy S10 and a GearVR headset and hang-on for as long as possible. It might work for quite awhile. But someday, Oculus application updates and such may just stop.
