Played VO on the Go and it was a lot of fun and run amazingly well. Thought about moving up to the quest but just battery life on these stand alone Vr headsets not good enough for me yet.

The Go's battery life is too short (about 2 hours) - you just need to get creative.

I have two of these batteries: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y2PX4YI/

And this "battery" sheath: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0090UWVCG/

Each battery gives you about another 5 hours of play time. I try to keep the Go at 100%, and swap these batteries when needed. I attached the sheath to the back of the head strap (the top horizontal strap). Works great.

I ended up returning the GO. Even it plugged into the wall it would still battery drain. Was just to much hassle for me. But $200 I spent I enjoyed it a lot and was very interesting. Wish Apple focused more on VR then AR. Although VO somehow done with apples AR kit would be something to see.

Yes, I experienced the same thing with the Go's charger (2 amps). The battery I listed puts out 2.4 amps - it keeps up with the Go's power usage.

Yes, I only play VO on the Go and it's great. If I plug-in (tip: magnetic charger) then I can play indefinitely but TBH 2 hours in one session is plenty.

I used to think that I was at a disadvantage on the Go for PvP but I now think I was just sh*t at it. Nowadays I can probably beat 50% of players so I conclude that the platform is not at a considerable disadvantage. Possibly keyboard and mouse players have the edge for controls but 3d and 360 view are great for judging how close projectiles are.

Anyone know if DEVs have considered a port to Quest? I recently sideloaded it to my Quest (I've already purchased on my GO), and I have no reason to play on my Quest, unless they added support for the Quest Touch Controllers. If they did that, then I would absolutely play on the Quest. I think a ton of Quest users would play this game too. Probably would never get approved to the Oculus Store, but they could put on SideQuest for sale.

The developers would likely change the graphic options available to the Quest as well as updating the controller system for the Quest, and release an official port through their store - I don't see them publicly supporting an option that Oculus dislikes. However, the devs [all two of them] have been working hard to clean up, expand, and tighten down the server this year, so I don't know how much - if any - time they've been able to devote to further VR work. Remember that the game DOES support the Rift [and in theory, the rift S], but only in a beta form. At the same time, the game has to be cross-compatible with many other platforms as well.

The reason I started playing VO was it was presented in the Google Daydream store and it was the only MMORPG available on that platform at the time. There are very few such options for the Oculus Quest so far, certainly not with the maturity of VO. It could be a huge hit. Since I've purchased my OQ I've stopped using my Pixel 3 in the Daydream headgear- the OQ is just so many light-years ahead that once I started using it I couldn't go back. Thus I've been away from VO as well as I really didn't like playing it without VR. So, I'm going to try to side-load the Oculus Go version onto my OQ as descried in this video. I hope it works, but I'd love to see a Oculus Quest native version. Not sure how hard it would be to port over the Go to the OQ, but I think if they strike while the iron is hot, there could be some really good money in it. OQ users are pining for good content and "Beat Sabers" will only keep people interested so long...
