Bluetooth keyboard compatibility
Any news on the subject? I know this has been already discussed, I was wondering if this was still in the works for a future update. It would make a HUGE difference, especially for iPads (and tablets in general) - which are becoming valid substitutes of laptops - . With a bluetooth controller, the VO experience is exquisite. Only physical keyboard is missing for perfection :)
I would ditto this for keyboards using the smart connector. I’d love to see both a way to turn off the in-screen keyboard, as well as the hot keys working from my physical board during game play.
So, I'd suggest starting with this old thread, with suggestions for iOS keyboard support.
This is definitely an area that we should improve, but there are also limitations placed on how much we can do, by the platform itself.
For instance, we cannot do PC-style "keyboard controls", because the mobile operating system does not send "Key-down" and "Key-up" events the way a PC or Mac does. Instead it just sends the "letter" being pressed, which is not helpful. Basically, both Android and iOS considered keyboards only to be useful for writing emails, or word-processing, and not for controlling anything else (ie, W/A/S/D + Tab style controls).
You can do things like use "n" to bring up the Nav menu, that kind of hot-key will work. Just nothing that relies on timing information, or anything more complex than a specific letter or character being sent.

Thanks for replying. It would be great just to be able to write in the chat with the physical keyboard, without the touch keyboard showing up.
