I'm playing on an ipad mini. Strafing doesn't seem to work at all. I've tried with different ships (starting ship, Revenant, Atlas). The most I get is a full brake, probably when I accidentally hit the brake/backward arrow. Not being able to strafe makes combat a bit tricky.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

You could try using the DroidButtons plugin, available from www.voupr.com. I've never tested it on iOS or heard reports of people using it, but it should work since I believe iOS uses the same control mechanics as Android.

Edit: I thought left and right strafe were already on there. Should by the left directional thumb pad. The thing that's really missing is up and down strafe.

Yeah, that's pretty strange, you should be able to strafe left and right just fine, out of the box?

What happens when you slide your left-thumb to the left, in flight?

The buttons are there. They're just not doing anything. When I slide the left finger to the left, in flight, on top of thr left arrow symbol, either nothing happens, or I brake. In the latter case, I assume I touched the pad too far back so I got on the back/brake arrow. I'll retry though and report.

(I don't think I can easily install plugins or anything on the ipad, right?)

edited to add: I can't connect to the game right now, probably some temporary server issue, so I'll retry tonight, after work.

Ok, forget I asked anything. I tried just now, and the solution is simple: I need to swipe the finger left/right (not left+back, just left, so that I touch in front of the left arrow) from forward acceleration while keeping it on the tab. I had raised the finger, and re-touched the tab, which doesn't work. Newbie question :)
