iPad UI feedback

The touch controls are great, especially with F/A off. Some ships are really twitchy (oddly, the Revenant?) but the low-level fighters are really fun to fly.

When I hit strafe, if I miss the arrow a little I often end up targeting an asteroid because I tapped it. I hit strafe a lot. I don't think we need to be able to tap through that part of the UI (especially since we can't tap through the chat area, which I think would be useful given the small screen).

I am pretty decent at dogfighting, but I could not pick up a debris-cube to save my actual life. I could be at a dead stop 4m from it, and my odds were no better than 25%. Got much better when I switched to 1st-person, but it would be great if the collision volume were expanded a bit.

Docking is also a pretty painstaking affair. What I presume are PC players swoop in and out, but I might as well have a white cane or sonar.

Lastly, the login dialog. My iPad is locked and logged into my Facebook and email accounts all the time, but I have to type my password a lot when switching into the game. If I could save my password there, I would probably use a stronger one.

[Edit: I totally get not being able to buy a full subscription from the app; I wouldn't want to give Apple 30% of my subscription revenue either. Alas.]

Hi mate!

You can shrink chat window (as well as others) by shrinking text in options/interface/HUD options

See ya in the Black

We did add full (aka premium) subscriptions to the iOS version in the most recent update.

When docking on a tablet, I tend to use the brakes a lot (Stop button) and play with F/A on.

Tapping through buttons to accidentally target something else is not exactly what's going on. If you just miss the button (there are small gaps between buttons) then it tries targeting what's right there.
We'll see about adding something to block that problem.
