Apple wireless keyboard problem

Apr 21, 2013 Sanitymops link
While my wireless keyboard is working fine on the default settings, I am unable to remap the keys in the options. It will let me delete a mapping but not add a new one. Also, the shift keys are not registering at all. So no ? Marks for me in chat.

I am not sure if this is just with the apple keyboard. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there some way I can make the remapping changes I want?

Thanks!

The key mapping screen is...uh... difficult on touchscreen devices. I've got a Targus bluetooth keybaord on the case for my iPad and the same thing happens.

Shift keys aren't bindable because they're actually shift keys. The flip-side of this is you can bind commands to both upper and lower-case letters and symbols.

You can always bind stuff by typing the command directly into the chat window like this:
/bind key command

Example:
/bind tab +turbo

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for the help! Here is what I did to remap keys on a wireless keyboard for ios:

First connect your keyboard
1. Options > advanced > interface > uncheck "enable touchscreen mode"
2. Options > advanced > controls > input > select "keyboard/mouse"
3. Keyboard tab in the controls menu- touch the option you wish to change and then press the keyboard button you want to remap
3.5) you can also use the formula abortretryfail gives above.
4. Set you input back to "keyboard/accelerometer" and you interface back to "enable touchscreen mode"

I have not checked to see if the app remembers my settings. I hope so because I am a much better pilot with the wireless keyboard.

I hope this helps others.

Thanks again for the reply!

Yeah that works. It also keeps the annoying onscreen keyboard from coming up all the time in-flight if you're using a hardware keyboard. Unfortunately, it disables useful things like touch-to-target. :(
