Buttons action on Ipad Mini

Apr 20, 2013 Xtopher4 link
Hi
Anyone else running VO on an iPad mini? My turbo button only responds some times, or clicks like it is responding but then does not turbo. Also I have notice that touching navigation screen and other buttons takes several touches, sometimes. Anyone else having this problem or do I have a problem with my Mini?

Thanks

It could be something affecting the capacitance of your fingers?

Also, turbo only responds when you have energy, if you fully deplete your ship powercell, turbo will not be responsive. This can be particularly noticeable and easy to see if using energy for two things at once, like turboing while shooting.

A very low framerate might also impact touch reaction time of the game. But aside from that, everything else would be in the touch controller and screen of the device. Because the mini is smaller, it will definitely require a bit more "exact" of a touch than on the full sized ipad.

I should have said in my original post, turbo resounds sometimes (battery has plenty of charge)

thanks

That sounds like a jittery capacitance effect on a touchscreen. If it's switching off and back on again, your thumb may be right on the edge of the touch-region and the touch controller is jittering over the finger position a little.

But, if we see or can reproduce anything similar related to our codebase, we'll definitely fix it. From your description it sounds more likely to be a hardware thing (not necessarily a hardware "failure", but a combination of grease, finger position, finger capacitance, and so on).

Another thing that can affect capacitive touchscreens is grounding. If you're playing on the device while it's plugged in, try it w/o the power cable attached and see if the problem is still there. If it goes away, there might be a problem with the outlet you've got it plugged in to.

My old phone's screen used to go totally bonkers if you tried to use it with the charger plugged in to the end of a string of christmas lights. Yeah, don't ask...

ipad mini here, same issue. Mine goes a step further, sometime while turbo is active it stops registering the touch -- no my turbo battery did not run out. I have to re-tap on turbo to get it working again. At first I figured I was missing the hitbox, but it's happened about a hundred times.

Thank you your description is really good and exactly what is happening with me. No problem with right hand moving ship. but can be turboing and it just stops even though it seems my finger never moved. Or it clicks on then stops, clicks on them stops etc etc then finally takes and is ok for awhile, then repeats same as above.
