Android Controller Remapping
Hello,
I really enjoy Vendetta Online on my Android handheld (Mangmi Air X). It reminds me a lot of the original Elite.
I have one suggestion:
Please allow full controller remapping on Android.
Specifically:
Allow Roll to be assigned to an analog stick axis.
Allow LB/RB and LT/RT to be freely reassigned.
Give Android the same controller flexibility as the PC version.
Many Android handhelds (Retroid, Odin, Mangmi, Logitech G Cloud, etc.) now use built-in Xbox-style controllers. Better controller customization would make the game much more enjoyable.
Thank you!
Martijn

"At the moment, strafe is split between the left stick and the D-pad, and roll is on LB/RB. This makes six-degree-of-freedom combat difficult on an Xbox-style controller."
Hello,
After playing the tutorial on an Android handheld with a built-in Xbox controller, I think an optional controller profile like this would make the game much more comfortable for players who are used to console space games.
I am not asking to replace the current controls. I would just like to have this as an optional preset or make it possible through full controller remapping.
Suggested layout:
Left Stick Up/Down – Throttle
Left Stick Left/Right – Roll
Right Stick Up/Down – Pitch
Right Stick Left/Right – Yaw (Turn)
LT – Primary Fire
RT – Secondary Fire
D-Pad Up – Strafe Up
D-Pad Down – Strafe Down
D-Pad Left – Strafe Left
D-Pad Right – Strafe Right
LB – Target Nearest Enemy
RB – Next Target
A – Turbo / Boost
B – Brake
X – Activate / Dock
Y – Target Nearest Friendly (or another targeting function)
L3 – Flight Mode
R3 – Radar Mode / Free Look
Keeping all four strafe directions on the D-pad feels much more natural than splitting strafe between the left stick and the D-pad. During the moving docking tutorial, I found it difficult to control the ship while also using lateral thrusters.
I think a controller preset like this would make Vendetta Online much more accessible for players using modern Android handhelds with Xbox-style controllers.
Thank you for considering it!

"I've spent quite a bit of time testing the Android gamepad configuration on my AIR X handheld. The gamepad settings appear to allow axis reassignment, but several mappings don't behave correctly. Turn works as expected, but Roll only responds briefly instead of continuously when assigned to an analog stick. Also, some controls (LB/RB) still perform Roll even when they're set to 'None', which suggests parts of the controller mapping are hardcoded. It would be great if the Android gamepad configuration fully respected the assigned mappings."
