Gear VR work with skins?
The main platform I play on is GearVR. I was wondering if Ui skins work with this version because the default. Is getting a bit cluttered with targetless.
Also, I use the Steelseries XL controller and I'm having this issue that whatever is mapped to the right trigger is constantly utilized. So if I have rotate counter-clockwise mapped my ship which just uncontrollably spin. The only thing to stop is unmapping it, which leaves me unable to use that function.
Finally, can the devs is it possible to be able to remap the triggers to a tertiary weapon fire? Currently I don't believe there is an option to fire any weapon mapped to tertiary fire.

Unfortunately, we've had a number of people report SteelSeries XLs that have "semi-stuck" shoulder-trigger buttons. From what we've seen, it is a hardware problem. We even reported it to SteelSeries, and tried to increase the default shoulder-trigger "deadzone" to compensate (although that's kind of futile, since it depends on the specific controller how "off" it is).
I'm guessing it's some sort of Q/A problem, and people don't notice with other games, because they don't use the analog nature of the shoulder triggers, or use them for anything as critical.
You can probably manually adjust the deadzones on the triggers to make your right-trigger more useful, in the Controller menu. But it's not the most user-friendly thing to try and do.
Skins on GearVR are a bit problematic, as it is not the same "skinned" system as the 2D HUD that people usually configure. So, I would say skins are not going to work right now.
We can probably add a tertiary fire option to the gamepad config menu though, if it doesn't have one already..

You can manually map tertiary fire for sure, I dont know if it is in the menu.
@incarnate that's a shame about the UI skins. Atm I use targetless plug-in and it makes the UI all cluttered and even has the chat and my current target box overlap. Was hoping I could either change the skin or at the least unlock some of the onscreen items and move them around and relocate them. They are all focused right near the center and there is some room to move things and even shrink the chat box a bit to make sure everything fits well.
About the steelseries that also sucks. I haven't noticed the issue in other games that requires those triggers. I tried messing with calibration for it, but didn't really help. I just had to unbind it to stop the constant spinning. The downside is now I have one less button and I have to do a full rotation with other button just to level myself out a bit.

Can you bind the trigger button as a normal button instead of an analog one? Youd lose your speed control but you could use the same mapping. Just set it to unmapped on the config screen then map it using the keyboard screen.
You cannot map axis on the keyboard screen, and as triggers are treat like axis, the only way to bind them with the menus is with the joystick page. Even typing /binds and /aliases do not work. Anywho, you can kind of get around this by using something like AnalogtoDigital as you can bind something like +shoot1 to the triggers then, and make them require more than a 50% press to activate.
Heck, with a2d, you can even still use the triggers for rolling, although you lose analogue precision it still works quite well.

Im fairly certain you can with shoulder buttons. I know you cant with a joystick. Has anyone else gone to the keyboard screen and tried this? It worked for me back in January.
Edit: Just went and did this. Selected accelerate on keyboard screen. Pressed a button. L2 populated. Easy peasy.
