Gear VR Subscription
I bought the game through Oculus for the Gear VR and I am only able to reach lvl 4 on my licenses. Do I need to purchase a subscription in order to reach higher licenses?
Really? i'm level 3 on most now i'm gonna be really annoyed also if we are capped at level 4 on a "PAID" game.
+1 on wanting an answer to this.

There are three levels currently, all this is subject to change.
F2P - Free to play. Currently levels are capped at 4, must be played on a mobile device
Lite subscription - $1/mo. Same level restrictions as F2P but players are not limited to mobile devices
Full subscription - $9.99/mo, no restrictions
If Oculus is selling the game is it likely a small fee to recoup their costs. I've installed the game from google play for no charge. What were you charged?

Vendetta online currently sells for £2.29 GBP on the oculus store. To be honest, I would expect a full game if I had to pay for it (Whatever the cost), there is certainly no information on the store page to indicate that it's limited and that it requires further payment or on-going subscription to unlock further features or level caps
blame oculus for requiring publication fee, not Guild Software for their subscription service which has existed for years.
All could be avoided with full transparency, state in the description that the game requires an on-going subscription for full features to be enjoyed. That way the buyer can make an informed decision based on the facts.
Publication fee or not, this should have been highlighted

Vendetta has been trying to fix this in the Oculus store writeup for a while (see thread in general forum). My summary: The new writeup has already been submitted and Oculus is holding it up. Before that they werent allowed to make changes to anything during the winter sale.
And on top of that, the game gives you access to top tier equipment for free. You dont need to pay to play.
Edit: New description is up on the store.

Yes, we updated the description as soon as the issue was pointed out to us. No intent to mislead, here. Sorry about that.
The GearVR version costs $2.99 to offset the significant development costs that went into creating a GearVR compatible version of the game (we're probably the heaviest and most complex title on any mobile VR platform, just frame-rate optimization alone was a major undertaking).
The GearVR version is otherwise identical to the "Free To Play" Android version.
It is not the same as the fully-subscribed PC version, which costs $89/year, or $10/month.
We are working towards a point where there will be no level caps on the "Free To Play" experience, which we hope to achieve in 2017.
Being a full subscriber will always have conveniences and advantages, of course. We are, after all, supported by a base of PC users paying $10/month. But we hope to bring the F2P version to a place of relative parity, with time/effort tradeoffs to achieve similar goals.

Hi Incarnate, many thanks for your prompt response to rectify the description and I never once thought there was any intent to mislead.
From my point of view, I've had a lot of value for the very low cost of £2.99 and I've spent a lot more on games with much less content. To eliminate the level caps would be fantastic so thanks for working on this.
what I am unsure of though are the conveniences and advantages that you mention which come with a full subscription, what they actually are (level cap aside). At this point, I know there is a membership upgrade of £10 per month but I don't know what perks it brings?
Thanks
Mike

Im also interested in what benefits the paid subscription brings. Im not opposed to paying, but i dont see a way to pay for the lite version or a description of perks for both lite and the 10 per month option.
Im not sure if this is what you mean, but some equipment is rated higher than those level caps, but you can buy/equip in greyspace. This would be one convenience thing, since it is still available to get.
Light sub, afaik, only unlocks pc play. You still have a level cap.
