Currently Working Controllers/Joysticks
Hello VO, I am a new member here and would like to address controller support in VO.
Incarnate posted a good thread about controller support back in 2013 where he listed the known working and non working controllers/joysticks. A lot of controllers have come out since then however, and it would be helpful if an updated list of supported controllers could be made and posted as a sticky if it is convenient. Don't worry about it if there isn't time since the devs and others are busy people.
Additionally for any members still active and reading this, what controller/joystick do you use? I am thinking about which one I should get so your advice would be helpful :)

It would be a good idea, but the list would be HUGE. Basically any controller that has been released in the last 5 years should work, as long as it is detected by the Android OS (some do require 3rd party apps). You may notice the few on the list that have issues are very very old controllers.
Thanks, I thought it might be so. I wanted to mention in my research on controllers/joysticks some things I have found:
1 - While using a USB OTG connected controller such as the Xbox controller/PS3 controller/Joystick, you don't seem to be able to charge your phone (due to the charge slot being used by the controller). This means that you have play time limited to the battery life of the phone. Then you can play again after recharging the battery to a high capacity.
2 - The Moga Power Pro controller and Moga Hero Power controllers seem to be having a lot of problems for folks trying to use them on Android Lollipop 5.0 - 5.1.1.

I post this to possible help anyone looking at a controller to buy for their android device.

Does anyone use a Wireless (Bluetooth) PS3 Controller with their android device? If so have you tried to connect it unrooted? I have read that there may be a way to connect it wirelessly to an android device without rooting and installing the six axis controller app.
I have used the six axis app, but it did require me to root. Will also simply fail to work if you use a rom that uses custom things like Samsungs Touchwiz, or HTC Sense.
