Which device are you using, I thought android automatically hid the on screen buttons (at least they did when I was using my GNexus).
We'll look into full-screen mode in the near future. It's technically a 4.4 (KitKat) API change, so it requires that we write it in such a way that if it isn't there, it falls back to the current interface. But, I agree, the touch interface would be better without the system-bar controls.
Look in the playstore many apps will let you do full screen, I use tincore to do it because I have an android game tablet JXD S7300C looks like a big PSP for $120.00
Tincore lets me map all my buttons and joysticks also do fullscreen.

We natively implemented full-screen support a few weeks ago.
Since about two weeks, the system bar reappears the first time I touch the screen after launching Vendetta.
The system bar doesn't go away anymore until I switch to the Home screen and back to Vendetta.
Even then the bar appears again at the first touch.
The bad part is that the bar is over some of the buttons like the Options and the part of the shoot/fly controls.
I'm on a Transformer Prime TF201 with android 4.2.1 and I have not had this issue before. I also did not change the ROM.
Other full screen games still go into full screen mode just nicely.
What can I do to remove the system bar again, or is there something in the app that could solve this.

I have some problem with sysyem bar buttons but I hope that developers will resolve in the future update this problem.
There is a Play Store update that should fix the system bar issue for devices running Android 4.3 and below.
So annoying that the bar at the bottom for my tablet on android doesn't go away anymore. And adding an app to maximize the full screen that needs to be run in conjunction defeats the frame rate and quality of the game tremendously.
Dogg769, what version of Android is your tablet running and what type is the tablet?
