Mission interruption due to phone call
Noticed an annoying feature of a few missions that will be flagged as interrupted but can't be continued if connection gets dropped or you receive a call mid mission. I had a mining mission but after receiving a phone call on the device upon re logging in the mission was flagged as interrupted and not able to be completed. Kind of an annoying situation in my opinion as the time spent on it was essentially wasted to be locked out of it through no fault of my own. What reasoning was behind the decision to lock out a mission that was not completed due to a log out?
Yes, the mission system was designed around PC players, and many missions were not intended to be interruptable by logoff, as it could potentially create some exploitative scenarios (at the time).
Obviously playing on phones with call interruptions were not a big part of our thinking in 2002. We may evolve the mission system to allow more persistency, but that'll be a bit of an undertaking.
In theory, receiving a call should not necessarily drop the connection or interrupt the mission, but only if your Android OS has enough ram to not-kill VO when it is running in the background. This is beyond our control, however, and is up to the respective OS and device. You might be able to make it less likely to be killed, by turning down all the graphics options so the memory footprint is smaller. This will also make the game a lot less pretty, unfortunately, but it'll also use less resident memory.

There's also some devices/networks that will lose data during a phone call. CDMA 3G comes to mind at least.
