There are several functions I can't access (or just do not know how to achieve it) on Android (I am a new player).

For example, I started a mission where you are required to deliver some cargo and give it to an NPC in some sector. I can target the NPC but I am unable to actually "hail" him or "give" him anything. I tried to Jettison the required item but it does nothing - the container just hangs out there and mission does not complete.

So a simple cheat-sheet for a total beginner would be very useful (can't find any) specifically for Android client: basic controls, screem layout, chat commands etc.

There's a list of commands in the Appendix of the game manual.

They all still work on Android.

Also, if you're using DroidButtons or have a device with a keyboard, you can bind commands to keys/buttons for easier access.

I already figured out I shouldn't have tried to talk to NPCs and head straight to the Station, but anyway... seems like some of the actions are unavailable for devices without keyboards.

I don't think there are any missions that require you to do things that aren't.. inherently in the mission (like pressing a "Continue" button), or like docking with a station. But, if anyone runs across examples of missions that are problematic on mobile, please post and give us a heads-up.

Wasn't there one that required you to /hail an NPC? I know you have to chat with the Marshal in order to become a bounty hunter.
