Issues saving controls when exiting the game

I use a bluetooth controller with my tablet to play VO (an OnLive Universal Controller). I set the top buttons (not triggers, eg, L1 and R1 on a PS3 like controller) to be fire primary and secondary weapons. For some reason, the VO app reads these as f and g respectively, works fine until I exit the game. Whenever I enter the game again, the buttons have suddenly stopped working. They are still set in the keyboard controls, but I have to specifically set the buttons to be some other action, then switch it back to primary/secondary weapons for them to work again.

A more minor (but also annoying) issue is that VO doesn't automatically detect that a controller is connected if the controller turns off due to idle. If I don't use the controller for ~5 minutes, it turns itself off to save battery. When I pick it back up, I press a button and it turns back on, but none of the joysticks/triggers work in VO until I go into the joystick settings and "scan for joysticks". If any of the joysticks/triggers are not in a neutral position when the disconnect occurs, the axis is "stuck" in that location until I restart the game (eg, if I'm turning right and accidentally hit the bluetooth button on my tablet's keyboard, I have to restart the game completely, which brings up the first bug I mentioned).

I hope these things can be fixed, but the game is very enjoyable.

The triggers stopped working. They show up in the joystick menu, and I can move the little bar that shows VO is detecting it properly, but when I am in the game they do not work to roll. Interesting enough, when I clicked "calibrate", it let me roll perfectly, but when I exited the control menu, it stopped working again.

I clicked "defaults" and reset everything to defaults. Set things up the way I want it again, and now the right analog stick is having the same problem, except when I click "calibrate" this time, it does not allow me to move my ship at all like it did for the triggers.

WTF is going on? My next step is reinstalling the game, but that is always a huge pain in the ass. The issue of controls not being saved is still present. I have the "a" joystick button set to turbo -- that saves fine. I have L1 and R1 set to fire primary/secondary weapons. These show up in the controls menu as "f" and "g" keyboard buttons. I set the "start" button to activate -- this shows up in settings menu as the l button, and also doesn't save. The only buttons that DO save between restarts are the a/b/x/y buttons.

Please, please fix this, or at least give a response. It's very frustrating to have to reset controls every time I open the game.

Hmm, i forget if Android VO has the "Detect Joysticks" button or not. If it does, give that a try and see if it picks your controller up after it wakes back up from sleep.

I mentioned in my first post that that does work :P. But it's a pain to go into settings and scan for joysticks every time it turns off because I'm mining for a long time. I figured out the rolling thing -- turns out if you have tilt to roll enabled, you can't set rolling to a joystick.

L1 and R1 buttons are now detected as "L1OUYA" and "R1OUYA" instead of F and G... It's not exactly an Ouya controller, but it works. And I think it's saving between games. But I still cannot map the dpad to any actions, and start/select etc don't save between games.
