I don't know how to activate the mining scanning under android. On my linux pc I press the 'b' button. Is there a comprehensive 'cheat sheat'?

All scanners are passive and will automatically scan your target if it's applicable. Obviously for a mineral scanner to work you must have an asteroid targeted. The default key for this on PC is, as you pointed out, 'b'. On the Android, you need to Long-press the "Target" button and select "Front Object". This will change the behavior of the target button allow you to target 'roids.
