AutoFire Turns Itself Off in Deneb Skirmishes
Is there a reason why when doing Deneb Skirmishes (any size, fighter small medium large etc), the autofire feature randomly stops working? It will work on maybe 1 out of 3 targets I go after, the rest of the time I have to fire manually. Which is not really possible on android. Lol. I would need 3 hands. One for strafing, one for accelerating/turbo/go backwards etc, and one for firing. Im already steering via the accelerometer method. Practicing on bots I had worked out a doable combat method on android, but that was with the assumption that autofire would work. If it doesnt work in pvp/skirmish fights....thats a major problem.
I've never heard this reported before. The auto-fire should not be disabling itself in skirmishes, I can understand how that would make combat pretty challenging. We'll take a look at it.
Just in case, what kind of device and Android OS version are you using?

Android 2.3.6, galaxy s2, the auto fire problem is not just skirmishes but any time targeting a member of the opposing faction (targeting secro in my case), the auto fire will not work until that ship has damaged your ship, even after attacking and damaging their ship manually. It's as tho the game considers them neutral until they've hit you.
I am ahving the same problem...i use a droid razr 2 16g 1.7 duo core...nothing ever slows this phone down...but i have the same auto target prob as you...what did you do
Is your target red on the radar?
Im still having this problem..the reticule turns yellow..it works somtimes and in the same scenario it doesnt regardless off deneb.
The lead-off reticle turning yellow only indicates that your aim is close enough that auto-aim can correct it. It has nothing to do with whether auto-fire will fire or whether your target is hostile or friendly.
Ray needs to know if the target is flagged as hostile by the game (i.e. red on the radar, or with a red target box) when auto-fire is not working.

I just realized I made an error in my earlier post.
Yes, the lead-off reticle does need to be yellow for auto-fire to work. However, your target also needs to be hostile. So the two parts together should determine if auto-fire will work.

Hmm...im still having problems with the auto fire...i made sure i did what drag said above...targets red on radar target is def hostile...guns do auto fire..(i no some dont). Any more ideas..DROID2 user
I would like to bump this thread as I too am experiencing the same issue... Things for your consideration.
HTC one x jelly bean. Regardless of the size the auto fire is very temperamental in denab. Initially I thought this was a lag concern though over the past week I've visited family in three different parts of the UK, each with a different broadband provider. All yielded the same results.
Next assumption was that plugins were creating some unknown error so game was played neat to no avail. Whilst playing neat i alternated between denab and hive missions. The results of which showed this error only occurred in Denab. Targets were marked as hostile on all occasions. This was then retested with plugins reinstalled with same results. The test was done using different ships, load outs.
Some times it fires and some times it don't, like a previous chap stated, regretfully we would need an extra hand to be ableto compete with computer players without the auto fire. I hope this gives more insight into the issue.

Did you try it without any plugins installed at all?
Some of the plugins can be pretty CPU-intensive, and mobile phones often don't have enough CPU to be doing anything more than running the basic game.
We will look into this issue further, and welcome ongoing reports and information.

Sorry my fault for poor explanation and nuisances assumed generally understood... When I said I played neat, I mean I'm playing without plugins installed.
I had reinstall the game just incase a plugin had changed the games files, the results were the same.
