android controlls

I am using an HTC inspire

Trying out different controlled schemes and variations I find different ones work for different situations. As a suggestion being able to save multiple variations for switching back and forth would be a great quality of life addition. Also to make some controls more viable for small phones like mine I have a few ideas: make the tilt "home" angle adjustable so the user can find a more comfortable angle. Also the "joystick" region/circle should also be adjustable (change the radius). Many times I find it unresponsive after my fingers drift to the edge of the circle. Or if your finger starts in the "joystick" region it should always be in control no matter how far it goes Untill it is lifted off of the screen. (or a better interpretation) These ideas are just from my experience to improve control and make for a happy player or possibly lead to other ideas with the same purpose. I feel though control is much harder on my phone without the ability to bind things to a keyboard and thus any ability for the player to customize and find their own solution would be great.

We plan to add most of the features you mention, but some of them will require some time consuming development. We definitely believe that the more configurability is offered to the players, the more they'll be able to find the comfortable setup that works for them. Given the variability of Android devices, this can be of substantial benefit.

As an interim or supplemental measure you could always try installing the DroidButtons plugin. This plugin allows you to add more buttons to the HUD that can be configured for any commands.
