Used to be able to play on my Droid X2 but after last update keeps telling me I need 500 MB on an external disk to load the game. I have over 1.5gigs internal and 4 gigs SD.
Running current firmware and all.
Anyway to fix?

Thanks

That's strange. We'll look into it. Please check back here later in the week, we may have some ideas.

Did you install this from the Android Market? Or via some other mechanism? As far as we can tell, we don't have any kind of mechanism with our game that enforces a 500MB requirement.

This was installed from the Android market. Do you have a fresh install you can give me?

The Market build is the freshest install we have. Could you post a screenshot of the interface that is telling you that you need 500MB on an external disk? We're at a bit of a loss as to where that's coming from.

Apparently on the Droid X2, /mnt/sdcard-ext is the truely removable sdcard. The internal storage is /mnt/sdcard, so maybe you're not actually making enough space available on that specific internal partition?

Just now uninstalled and redownloaded Vendetta from Market. Installed and started game.
Game loads with the big Vendetta logo and the progress bar. Load completes and has me at a screen that says "You already played through the tutorial once." " Would you like to skip directly to the Free-Play zone or would you like to play through tutorial again?"
Selected "free-play".
Goes to free play explanation screen.
Goes to flight mode and I select "back" on my phone and it brings me to the "Thanks for experiancing the Vendetta Online single player demo/ tutorial." screen.
Takes me to screen shots of game.
I pressed "back" again and it takes me to Android "Open" or "Uninstall" screen.
Selected "open".
This time I get the request for 500MB error.
This is what it says:
"You need at least 500 Megabytes free in your 'external' storage directory.
"(It's often an SD Card, but can be built-in)"

I will attemp to send a picture of it.

Could you please post a screenshot of Settings -> Storage as well?

I assume you aren't trying to use "App 2 SD" or any of the other things intended to move apps off of internal storage?

We released an Android Market update yesterday that has additional information on that error screen. Can you please try with the latest VO market update and post the text?

Ok, I just uninstalled and reinstalled the new version. The problem still exists. Same routing was followed from above . Same message appears.

Here is my storage screen you requested:

Unless I'm misreading.. that screenshot says you have 7.47MB (megabytes) available on your internal storage. We recommend 500 megabytes.

According to the error message it requires 500 megabytes on the external storage area. Not the internal. If I'm going by the error message I have almost 4 gigabyte available on my sd card. Another thing I noticed is that I can not move vendetta over to the sd card.

Yes, you cannot move the app to an SD card at present.

What is considered "internal" vs "external" is basically up to the individual Android device. Originally, anything off of /sdcard was considered "external", and was actually located on an SD card. We even detected if people swapped SD cards. Then companies started making devices with large amounts of internal flash that were called "/sdcard" that were not actually removable SD cards at all, and started calling this "internal". For a developer supporting "Eclair" and "Froyo", what you see as "internal" on that display is still considered "external" by much of the OS software. It's been a rather challenging process of evolution for Android software developers.

In any case, you will need to free up space on your "internal" memory, and I wager the game will immediately start working.

We'll take a look at clarifying the error message.

bgog97522, please provide your Android device and Android version number.

bgog97522, did you install the game from the Android Market (or Google Play or whatever they're calling it today)?

If you go to Settings -> Applications -> Vendetta Online, what version does it say is installed?
