Disable on-screen keyboard option?

I've got a phone with a hardware keyboard (Moto Droid MkI) and it's just a tad annoying to have to close the on-screen keyboard all the time when I touch a text field.

Is there any way to disable this in the config.ini file? I didn't see any option in the menu for it. (Menu was kinda small though, i may have missed it.)

If you're sure you only want to use the keyboard, you can go into Options, Interface, and then uncheck "Enable Touchscreen Mode".

This will disable the soft keyboard. However, it also disables the touch flight UI, so you will need to then use the keyboard for gameplay as well. Personally, I think this works better than the onscreen flight controls anyway, but you may need to re-configure the keyboard flight settings around the specifics of your device.

Thanks I'll try that.
If none of the on-screen flight controls will work, is there a way to hide them then? Screen space is a bit... limited on this device. :)

The on-screen controls will work, it's just a matter of whether they're displayed. In "Enable Touchscreen Mode" you gain the full touch flight UI. With that disabled, you have only the three minimal buttons. So, it does hide the unused controls.

Hmm... turning off that option seemed to do more than just disable the touchscreen controls. It disabled all of my controls. The HW keyboard included. Even the back button doesn't bring up the menu in-flight now.

That doesn't make much sense. Try deleting your wgaf.cfg and re-running the game.

It works fine on our Transformer, I just tested it earlier. I don't have my Droid MkI around to try right now.

Definitely weird. I hit the "Defaults" button under the "Controls" menu and it's working as expected now.
Thanks! :)

Oh interesting... With "Enable Touchscreen Mode" turned off, the whole screen works like a laptop touchpad. That's MUCH better for aiming than the crappy d-pad on this phone. :D
