Download/update PROBLEMS
I recently downloaded VO onto my XOOM from the Android Market. I completed the large file download.
But now I have a huge issue with the update --> It announces the update-version-date screen, and also says its "Downloading updates..."
at the very top of the updates it states, "Connecting to update1.vendetta-online.com:21024"
but the download bar never moves and its been on this screen for over 9hrs now. I've tried canceling and restarting my xoom, and still nothing.
any suggestions or support?

Sorry for the late response. The game launcher/updater may be having problems connecting to the update server. Have you tried from another wifi hotspot? It could be your local firewall is blocking the connection.
I have a similar. Problem where the updater it just loops updating saying its complete true to connect it gives no error message just cheking and loops back around. I am using Samsung galaxy 2 using the side loader. Any help would be great
Do you mean the Samsung Galaxy S II?
Do you have plenty of free space on the internal memory? 500MB or more?

There's a whole family of "Samsung Galaxy" products, can you verify for me that it is the "S II" and what OS version it is running?
It's rather worrisome that you're unable to install. It may never run properly on the device, but it should install properly, as that is some of our most compatibly-written Android code.
Please confirm for me exactly what device and OS revision you have, and I'll follow up with Google. Thanks.

shadeleaf: Can you please try completely uninstalling the current version (be sure to "Clear Data" in:
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Vendetta Online,
and then uninstall it), and then download and install this new version released a few hours ago:
http://download.vendetta-online.com/VendettaOnline-sideload.apk
We improved compatibility with certain cases, which could include yours.
----------------
This is not related, however, to the original poster's complaint, which was with the Market build on a Xoom.. I still have no idea why that would be problematic (we have over ten thousand successful Xoom installs). I suspect the original-poster's issue was firewall or wifi related.

Cheers Incarnate that worked a treat :-)
Hi,
I'm having a similar problem installing UPDATES on a Asus Transformer. My TF is running Androind 3.2 and is a German SKU. I had the same problem even with Android 3.1 version.
The game is installed, by either methods (market or sideloader) and when it starts to update it connects to update1.vendetta-online....... , completes one bar, then connects to update2.vendetta-online....... downloads a portion of the update, then i get the message "Connecting to" and the address is some gibberish ASCII characters from what i can distinguish 17 @- 1024 ...to describe in words the address is:
draw-of-a-square17draw-of-a-square@-chineese-letter1024.....
And stays like this for hours, doesnt go further... I tryed to clear data, uninstall, like 10 times, nothing solves this.
I use a ADSL wireless router and I disabled the Firewall, and also set the local Transformer IP adress as DMZ (demilitarized zone for that IP -> wich is always the same). Need some advice on this one...

Confriming the same problem on my Asus Transformer.
We're being shipped a Transformer, to try and help debug this, and hope to have it on Weds. We'll sort it out as soon as we can. Sorry for the problems, is is a rather strange issue and only seems to hit on specific devices (which, naturally, we don't have).
Any news?? Were you at least able to see/duplicate this bug in Transformer pads??? I am wondering if it is prolly only a SKU bug, since the idiot german SKU removed all languages support but german....(how nazi is that????? )...I am not german, but i live here and i did not want to wait for shipment....so i bought from local retailer.....not knowing that german version had no other language support....
Anyway, hope you guyz can sort this out since i want to play this game on my tab.

We received a Transformer on Weds, and we have been continually testing various cases to try and reproduce problems. We've found some problems, but nothing catastrophic like you describe. But, we're still continuing to test. Maybe we'll try the device in German next.
Can you please try running the game again, and see if anything behaves differently, now? We may have addressed one bug that could result in gibberish fonts, but it should not have kept people from downloading.

I have tried again, uninstalled, clear date, market installer went fine with version 1.1.185 (or something ending with .185 :) )
Still the same problem. I took a screenshot maybe it helps you guyz, what i can say is download invariably stops at the same bar length (the yellow completed indicator). Also when I clear data i usually have 13MBytes of data, when i clear i have 10Mb, so my guess is that those 3-4MB are downloaded........but I still do not rule out a wireless router connection problem...I will try go to a hotspot today and try from there, see what happens. Thanks for the support.

When this happens again, can you scroll the changelog all the way to the bottom? The Updater prints certain errors at the end of the changeog if it detects them.
After testing it on a different hotspot and again at home, give this test apk a try:
