If the accelerometer controls just had tab on the controls page like the Joystick axes do, then people could bind them to various move commands as they see fit, and it wouldn't be necessary to have checkboxes or radio buttons to select between different presets that may or may not fit every player's needs.

Each Axis could have a control to select it's zero point, deadzone, and saturation, just like the joysticks do.

This is already possible under Options > Controls > Accelerometer

Excellent, however I still think it would be nice if it were faster/easier to access.

I'll have a look at that plugin.

This was explained earlier in this very thread near the top, but here's the link to the exact post.

I'm not satisfied with this explanation, because I really can't imagine anything worse than the keyboard the game is now using. Also, if this was to correct slowness issues, it doesn't seem to have worked all too well, since the keyboard in the game frequently ignores keystrokes if you try and type too fast.

I'll be perfectly honest. I hate the android system onscreen keyboard, too, but I can deal with it, only because it lets you install alternative input methods and keyboards, and only because hacker's keyboard is one of them. It's the only touchscreen keyboard I can even remotely use without popping a rage boner, and if it wasn't for that, I would have seriously returned my shiny new snapdragon phone to the store and went back to using my old G1.

And that's the problem with screwing with people's preferred input devices. Not being able to type without suffering an aneurism is a solid deal-breaker for me in any app or device, and I will never understand why everyone who goes and makes their own keyboards for android (including the OEM ROMs) thinks deviating from a standard relative keyboard layout is a good idea.

Anyway, bottom line devs, and I mean this in the most respectful manner possible, but I really don't care what kind of difficulties you may have using the stock android keyboard, people really need the option to use it. If you're not satisfied with the performance of it, then either fix the performance problem, or give people the option of choosing to deal with it over using whatever dumb app-specific keyboard you cram in there. Let the users decide what they want to use.
