Bump mapping?
Hi.
I think that I've already asked this question in the past but can't find that thread any more... Is there any way to get bump mapping to work on Linux? It certainly doesn't work on my GeForce FX5600 and I miss this effect sooo much after having seen bump-mapped roids on windows. I know it's not a top priority issue right now, but still...

Some roids are randomly not bumpmapped. More asteroids are bumpmapped on my GeForce 2 MX (Linux) than my Radeon 9600 (OSX), try downgrading your card? :S

On Windows, you can get better bumpmapping than on Linux. That's because DirectX has a nice little bumpmapping ability, but with OpenGL you need to use vendor extensions (NV_blah, etc), which gets ugly. There is some bumpmapping on Linux (what's known as the "bone roids"), but not as nice as the IceYo's on Windows.
Thanks for explanation. It's the IceYo's ;-) type of bump mapping that I hoped for, but it looks like I'll have to wait for OGL to catch up first (and then the devs to implement it eventually).
Solra Bizna: I used GF2 before and I can't see any difference in bump mapping compared to what FX5600 gives me.
