logitech "dual action" pad problems
the sticks on the "dual action" pad dont seem responsive in-game. under the controller menu, moving the stick cause there to be a "twitch" on the indicators. i have found no way to calibrate it (the "calibrate" button does nothing). could someone please point me at a fix (that maybe i missed).

In the .vendetta directory (or wherever vendetta is installed to on your computer) there is a file called config.ini.
In that file there are some joystick settings. I'll explain the settings tomorrow.
Another option is to try to move the joystick in all directions. I don't know for sure but that may be enough to tell vendetta what the extents of the axes of the device are.

Another couple questions.
Which OS are you in? I'm presuming Linux.
What joystick driver are you using in Linux? I'm not familiar with the newer Linux js drivers. Then again, I'm not the linux guy either.
We just received one of those joysicks from Logitech and we'll have it figured out soon.

gentoo linux
oninoshiko@misato tcp $ uname -a
Linux misato 2.6.6-rc2 #1 Sat Apr 24 13:54:05 CDT 2004 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
this is a USB pad, so i am useing HID and the joystick input driver (both are compiled into the kernel) i have libjsw installed, but i dont think vendetta uses it.
this pad shows is at /dev/js0
vendetta sees it, and the buttons work, just none of the axis.

With the hiddev module installed, the joystick works fine for me. I didn't calibrate it with any other program or do anything special; just plugged it in and it worked. Are you using some other program to calibrate? That might goof Vendetta up, since I don't think our joystick code is smart enough to read the calibration values.
im not shure, i think it might ne somthing spcific to this pad. im really considering returning the thing.
Do you have access to a Windows machine? Try to see if it works in Windows.
it does now give slight movement in linux, ill try in tha lab later
resolved.
i disconnected pad
removed the appropriate section of .vendetta/config.ini
reconected the pad
restarted vendetta
now it seems a bit OVERsensitive, but is better then mouselook
thank you for all your help guys
