Crash after login; Load screen
Current Behavior:
Game crashes after user login, while load screen is "loading."
Expected Behavior:
Pretty obvious.. I want to play the game. :)
System Specs:
AXP 2100+
256MB RAM
ATI 9800 Pro
ATI Drivers, v3.7.6
Distribution: Gentoo
Desktop Environment: KDE
Kernel: 2.6.3-r1
Notes:
- Progress bar is always approximately 80 - 90 % filled when the game simply exits.
- All other games, i.e. Neverwinter Nights, RtCW, etc, still run fine (and much faster, with the new drivers, btw :)
Description:
The game was running fine with ATI Drivers 3.2.8. I decided to upgrade to 3.7.6. That's when this problem started. I've read the "Vendetta Very Slow" thread, and tried suggested solutions therein, but the problem remains. I'm not entirely sure this is the same problem either, but it could be related.
Please let me know what error logs to post.
Thanks,
Thorne

Problem solved. Downgraded to 3.2.8. Oh well.
Interesting.. it doesn't bring up a bug reporter form? Is there any crash dump inside ~/.vendetta/errors.log? (this gets cleared out each time you run the game, btw) Anything in dmesg saying why the process was killed?
Linux has never brought up the bugreporter form. I told ya that a year ago. Unless you fixed it in the last 2 or 3 versions, it's always been broken.
You did? It works for me.
Not here, though the only crashes I've triggered has been by nvidia drivers (standard "oh, nvidia buggered the pci bus and crashed. do your best to recover" ) and not related to the game
I forgot to mention this before, but have you tried setting some of the various config.ini options to 0, like doshaders and dovertexbuffers?
