Is this working in KDE?
Hi. I've been playing for years in Xfce. Switched to KDE it always crashes, apparently when trying to change the screen resolution. I recently tried wayland for the 1st time and tried vendetta in a plasma wayland session and it didn't crash. It opened in a small window with the wrong resolution and was unusable,, but it didn't crash. I had renewed hope of getting vendetta working. I've tried making an Xfce session in my KDE install which didn't work (vendetta still crashed in x11) and then I found this forum and saw that it says to run in X11. Well, in KDE and Gnome it always crashes in X11 on all of my laqptops. Does anyone have this working in KDE? Is it hopeless?
I just wanted to add, I'm currently trying with a 2nd gen i7-2820QM with integrated 2nd gen graphics and a Nvidia Quadro 1000M. It crashes with both graphics. I'm currently running Garuda Dragonized KDE, where I plan to stay for a good bit. It's basically Arch-Linux configured very nicely by someone else. But it also crashes in Manjaro KDE and Gnome. It works in both Manajaro and Garuda Xfce. I used to dualboot to play, but dual booting has been causing me issues lately.
Well, it's been days with no answer. I guess I'll put Manjaro Xfce on a 2nd drive and play there (I can't afford the bandwidth of another Arch to update daily and I hate Windows), but Garuda's flagship Dragonized KDE has been growing fast in popularity [currently number 8 in Disrowatch and well worth checking out, but not a noob friendly forum] and has a pretty popular Gaming Edition. I'd love to tell Garuda gamers about Vendetta, so I hope you devs can fix the issue. It's been an issue for a very long time. And I'm still looking for a solution if anyone stumbles upon this thread and can help. Thanks.

Deepin is no longer the best looking linux.
fyi, something like this is better suited for the bugs subforum, as the developers check the platform-specific subforums less.
they'll need more info, too, such as info about your PC and what distribution you have running, among other things.

Please post to Bugs
Long time KDE Plasma user here. Works fine on Arch and Gentoo, so definitely not a Plasma related bug. I am using Core i3-7020U with Intel HD Graphics 620.
Works fine on GNOME 40, Deepin, XFCE, Mate and dwm too

SOLVED:
I guess Xfce is more forgiving on the install location. For years I've been making a /home/user/vendetta directory and installing there without adding the location to $PATH. That worked fine in Xfce, but not in KDE. When I made a ~/bin directory and installed there, as suggested, I can now play again. When all else fails, read the instructions, I guess. Thanks for the input, guys.
