Best way to configure my ancient machine
I have a 450Mgz 16mg RIVA TNT diamond viper, a horrible sound card and ram. I am running fedora core 1. I was hoping you could tell me the best way to configure it. It runs fine when there are little asteriods in sight, but when there are too many it becomes real slow and jerky. Thanks a lot
You can try going into the Video Options and select 16Meg settings in the first setting of the menu.
Then go into Graphics Options and set both of the 2 LOD values to 20.
Also set your background detail down to low.
Turn off Space Junk.
All those should give you pretty ok performance if the settings are not already set to those values.
