On login tonight, 64 bit Linux the game crashed the first time, and worked as expected the 2nd time. On the 2nd run, the above warning was populated to stdout. Is this cause for concern?

It's part of the in-game voice chat. Done that for years on all of my computers...
Gotcha. I normally run the game from a launch prompt, so I don't see stdout. On the 2nd attempt, I started it manually. Thanks.
Sorry Michael, that's not really applicable to my system. My motherboard uses realtek as opposed to intel, and my system is AMD. My OS is also not Ubuntu or Fedora based, which it appears the driver update you listed requires. And finally, this doesn't appear to be a problem with my audio drivers, which work great, but rather something VO has implemented as a "hack" until they can rewrite VAD. Even if I was on Ubuntu or Fedora, I don't see any evidence that a change in audio drivers would be required.
It's good to try to provide Linux help, but try to ensure the suggestions you are making pertain to the problem at hand, or a user who is less familiar with their operating system could blindly try following the suggestion and risk stability to their system chasing ghosts that don't really pertain to their problem.

I read that it is an issue with Nvidia open source driver. But, I'm using Ubuntu's default open source driver.

It's the Voice Chat system, out of our control, the TeamSpeak library we use for it is doing it.

All you can do is ignore it. I suppose we can hex-edit the string to be null or something.
