Error: Can't Adjust Audio driver
Yes, but not everyone has enough ram to run arts, never mind arts and a agame.
I had to switch over to alsa lately, and I found my main problem was the way kde 3.2 beta "grabs ahold" of the audio driver. I've found that if there is a system sound going on while loading into Vendetta, that Vendetta never gets access to the sound device. My solution? set the time Arts or what ever control program you use (kde 3.2 defaults with arts) to only hold the device for 1 second, and disable most sounds.
Or just don't use arts. :P Really, there is no point in using arts or esd if you already have ALSA...
rogue, not everyone has hardware channel mixing. And alsa's dmix is far from usable right now
My sound works nice in Vendetta(no music tested yet but I'm working on it) when I get in game(in ship outside of station) I got this permanently written in the upper part. Any ideas?
ALSA or OSS?
Alsa.
NOTE: It is quite random. I think it depends on some sort of ghost remains.
Example: Last time it went without the error. Next after I run the game shortly after shutting down xmms it was without sound. So I ran a SDL-game and rerun Vendetta and viola...

Do you have alsa-oss properly configured? Do you use arts/esd?
