Fullscreen Graphics Corruption
Symptoms:
game runs fine in windowed mode. in fullscreen the main rendered graphics flash. background is rendered fine in full screen

i forgot to mention ... i pretty much systematically tried virtually every setting in the game with no change in issue.

I can't find that anywhere.
That's probably because I generally scoff at ATi under Linux, but things might have happened in the time since I abandoned Linux for all gaming purposes...

Turn compiz off. 3D Window managers and 3D games never play nice.
