Black and stuttering
Hi, I've searched for a while but I didn't find an answer to my problem:
I run Vendetta with a Radeon 9800 pro 128MB video card on the latest Ubuntu. First of all I must say I'm pretty new to ubuntu (2 months or so), wich might be part of the problem. ATI drivers seem corectly installed, though...
...the Game starts in 800x600 mode. Then I switch it to 1650*1050 mode (my usual desktop setting). Then I log in, start the ship and 30 seconds or less after that my screen goes black, everything freezes and the music goes on repeating the last few tones again and again. Is this a known bug and what can I do about it?

If you stay at 800x600 mode, does the problem still happen?
If not, then maybe the drivers are buggy or your video card is overheating.
Are you able to task out of VO back to your desktop while the problem is happening?

Thank you for your answer,
I've tried it in every mode now and it's still happening.
I'm not able to task out of it, once it's stuck I have to restart the whole thing. With 800x600 it's taking a bit longer (I can kill a bot or so) until it's freezing. At higher resolutions I can't get over the jump mark.
finaly a game I want to play on linux and I can't play it buhuu...

Why do you say that the ATI drivers are correctly installed?
Do the desktop effects run correctly?
Or are you perhaps using the vesa drivers?
If the desktop effects are on and running, turn them off and try again.
