Can't start VO on EeePC 4G with default Xandros distribution
So, I thought I'd try running VO on my little ol' EeePC. I've seen a few places on the internets where others have been successful, so I figured the hardware was capable of running it to some degree.
Unfortunately, when I click "Play" after the updater has run, I get the following error: "Fatal Error: Couldn't open window."
I'm using an external monitor with a resolution of 1024x768, DRI is enabled in my xorg.conf (and "direct rendering: Yes" is visible in the output of glxinfo). I've seen some other threads on this board about this issue, but none of them seem to have any sort of resolution. Any ideas?

Okay, I seem to have been able to fix my problem. Someone (I forget who, but they were helpful!) on the IRC channel informed me that VO on Linux actually looks at the modelines in your xorg.conf. Even though my EeePC was hooked to an external monitor and in a resolution of 1024x768, there was no modeline matching that setting in xorg.conf.
Anyhoo, I checked the X server logs and found a modeline that seemed to match close enough to what I was using, and added that to my xorg.conf. I'm not sure how (or if) it would affect my normal setup, so before I rebooted I commented it out. But adding it to the modelines for my video card seemed to fix everything as far as VO was concerned, and it loaded up just fine.
Hopefully this will be helpful to someone else out there.
