Can't connect to guild server

After witnessing Furball eat incarnate on IRC and installing ethereal plus going through all of my firewall logs I have come to the following conclusions:

1. UDP packets are not coming anywhere near me, they are NOT getting refused by my firewall (especially as I even set up port forwarding as well).

2. TCP connections to the update.guildsoftware.com are NOT always perfect either. The chances of getting a proper connection are 1 in 3.

What I need now is someone to monitor the guild server while trying to initiate the connections, just to see if my packets are getting through to you. Anybody fancy doing that? How about you Incarnate?

Meanwhile, while not playing Vendetta, I have discovered 'gnutella'. What a marvellous invention that is :-)

tru_playaz.... can you remember at what version this started happening? Have you ever managed to play Vendetta?

I was playing about 3 months back with no problems (played for ages before that).

Im unsure which version the problems started (I skipped a few updates) but it was *probably* 3.2.6 - But I can't be sure.

Miss playing :(

I also get worse than 1 in 4 connecting to the update server.

I'm in CST, and I wasn't around much over the weekend, sorry. I'm usually more active on #vendetta in the afternoon or evening on weekdays. You're also welcome to shoot me an email, john@guildsoftware.com.

Incarnate got it fixed!!! Hurrah! Try connecting now tru_playaz.

I think Incarnate is going to give a more detailed explanation later :-)

Thanks again mate, much appreciated.
