Full screen on Mandriva2007
neither playing with the config files and/or the ingame settings, have been succesful at giving me full screen on the trusty ol' compy....
it's nice to play @ 1024x768, but the windowed thing is lousy.
any suggestions?

I forget, does Mandriva 2007 use XGL/AIGLX?
yes it does, and with the compounding headaches that Xgl has been the root of, it was the case here too.
as a note to all, uninstall all Xgl components from your machine via package manager and your problems will be solved.

...or just start a normal X server on another vt...
WTF?
Do they really use alpha-state technology as a DEFAULT option in a FINAL release? LOLZORZ...
I always knew they sucked... but not THAT much... arrgh.

Hehe, well, AIGLX I could understand, but XGL?!
XGL is not alpha-state. Not ready for mainstream use perhaps, but it is mature enough for Novell to have 15 or so machines set up at LinuxWorld showing off SLED with XGL. They also used it in a xen demonstration/presentation thing (had a video playing behind a console to prove they were not cheating and the machine they were manipulating really was running). Went very smoothly. I deleted my last surviving Suse install the next morning though. :-P
