throttle zeroed between sectors?
I have a Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D (hooked up to one of my front USB ports) and when I go from one sector to the next, the throttle is magically zeroed. End result, immediately after coming out of the portal, my ship comes to a dead stop and I have to move the throttle down and back up to get it moving again. A workaround I've found is to move the throttle down and back up during the leaving-wormhole cinematic (I don't know why this works but it does). It's still a pain though, and it doesn't feel natural at all.
Oooh, your FRONT USB port??? Oh thats the problem.

That is what happens regardless of what controller or port is used IF you use "aracade mode". If you switch to "physics mode" you will emerge with your throttle still active.

...except the "throttle" doesn't do anything in physics mode. Or has a different meaning at least.
Yes, it zeros your throttle. I can't remember what the reason for it was, because yes, it's a bit annoying. Confusing at least. I'll see if Ray can remember why it does this.

Nope, that doesn't seem to work.

Hmm, the msgs go back to 11/99. I don't know if i can find what i need.
I think it was because we didn't want people ramming into something when they spawned.
Usually the throttle would be a full, and when you warp in or come out of a station, it would set your ship speed to full and you could ram into something.
Also, if your throttle was 0, and you came out of a station, you would just stop right there and probably get telefragged if someone else came out the same docking bay.

Yes, well, setting the throttle to 0 explicitly doesn't exactly solve that latter problem, does it? I guess we should make it not do that, and then see what different problem everyone complains about.
Oh I read it wrong. I don't remember anymore.
I suppose we can do what you said, andy and then see what the complaints are.
