I'm using debian on a modern laptop (1.4 Pentuim M)
and when I enter the game it lags so much I see about one frame par second, why is that, how can I improve it?

er... do ye have direct rendering enabled?
for me it looks like that's teh problem.

first how do I check if I have direct rendering enabled?
second, I only have I file for the whole game and theird I have some kind of famous intel chip. I don't remember it's name

Can you post you /etx/X11/xorg.conf ?

Open a terminal and type "glxinfo". Then paste that here. Also include a copy of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and some basic hardware stats (graphics card, in particular).
