Voodoo3 3000 and DRI
I'm running X in 16bit, never switched 24bit on and naturally Vendetta crashed everytime I wanted to enter space (menu worked fine).
Then switiching 24bit support on came to my mind but it seems like DRI doesn't support my Voodoo card in 24bit and thus making Vendetta running very slow.
Anyone who had similar problems? Or even a solution?

Have you tried running Vendetta in 16bit mode?
You may want to try loading an older driver and GL module. Many of us have had some seriously laggy problems with the current set of almost every chip-type's drivers.
For example the current nVidia driver/GLX mod is around 4191. Most of us Nix gamers, myself included, use 3123.

Actually, Vendetta probably crashes due to a problem with older DRI drivers, but checking with your bug report, it seems you have a recent DRI driver. However I still think that's your problem.
I would say try using older drivers, like Turmoyl said. There's other players that have a voodoo 3 and they have problems too. There's also some who are in Windows with a voodoo3 and it mostly works fine for them. An occasional crash happens though. We can't really do much about buggy video card drivers.

Or you coud try getting even newer DRI drivers.
Just a "ditto" to the above problem. I have tho old Voodoo3 2000, and it runs fine for a while in 16bit then something happens and Vendetta either crashes with a bugreport or locks X entirely. It usually happens after a jump to another sector, but I can't find any real pattern. Mandrake 9.0 gave me Glide_V3-DRI-cvs-5mdk, and glxinfo reports "Mesa DRI Voodoo3 20010501."
-edit- Decided to just get a non-ancient card, so Vendetta BETTER turn out good = )
