Screen on standby after a couple of minutes
First of all: Very nice game!
1 problem though: I can play for a couple of minutes and after that my screen (samsung syncmaster 172v) switches to standby.. don't have a clue why. I can still here music and other stuff, but I can't get any image anymore :(
Ctrl + F1 doesn't work either.
My setup:
Ubuntu Hoary (Xorg + 2.6.10)
Latest Ati binary drivers (Radeon 9600XT)
AMD Athlon XP 3000
512 MB, etc..

Are you playing with joystick? That could cause the switch into standby mode, because the X server won't receive any input events from mouse and kb for a while. Still odd that you can't get back....
Anyway, try entering "xset s off" into a terminal. That should disable Xs' powersaving stuff.
If that doesn'T help it might be a hardware/driver problem. Did you ever have problems with other games?

No, I'm playing with keyboard (PS/2) and mouse (USB), so I don't think that's the problem.
I'll try to turn the power saving off this evening (have to work now).
I don't have any problems with other games, like Enemy Territory and Doom III.

I have this problem, my screen blacks out, but doesnt goto stand-by.
To find out if its the same issue, press alt+enter (to switch to window mode) if it all spings back to life, then Gnome is your problem.
I believe Ubuntu ships with IceWM, try use that WM, or use a different WM.
I am unsure exactly what the problem is, but have noticed it on few other applications that use OpenGL, if i simply dont use Gnome, my problem is solved.

Try adding ForceAGPMode "yes" (or similar) to your XF86Config/xorg.conf/whatever.
