Any chance you could compile a 64 bit version of vendetta?
Right now the vendetta joystick driver doesn't work with 64 bit linux.

Maybe this should be in the Bugs forum... dunno!?!

It should work, the interface to the joystick doesnt care much whether you are 32 or 64bit. I would double check to make sure you have the proper joystick driver and all 32bit emulation layers installed.

@tramshed: Actually, the joystick may or may not work w/ a 64bit kernel, depending on if the kernel has certain patches. I haven't gotten around to patching my kernel yet (I'm pretty well content w/ keyboard+mouse), so when I tell Vendetta to scan for my joystick, I get messages like "ioctl32(vendetta:9670): Unknown cmd fd(18) cmd(80046a01){00} arg(ffffd1f8) on /dev/input/js0" in my syslog.

ill have to stick to playing it on windows xPee :(

How about us abundant and generous Linux users set up a Paypal pot sorta deal, and everyone can contribute like a dollar or so towards the purchase of a 64-bit machine for Guild?

Just run the 32bit version.
Nothing prevents you from running 32bit code on a 64bit kernel.
I'm currently running linux 2.6.13 on AMD Athlon64 3000+.
No problems at all with vendetta.

Heh. You're actually a bit late, Dragu, the devs released a 64-bit client some months ago. Yeah, the 32-bit client runs fine, but the 64-bit runs better.
