Can you delete your config.ini file?
Do you have multiple monitors on your computer? If so, try disabling all but the primary and see if that helps.

Looking at the code, the reason it printed "Renderer check failed" was because it couldn't find a renderer that was accelerated, or doesn't have enough video memory, or doesn't support 16/32 bit rendering.

hmm…It could be, that it doesn't have enough video memory.I have only 4MB.

Can you delete your config.ini file?
->Yes, I can delete my config.ini file. Should I delete it?
Do you have multiple monitors on your computer?
->No, I have only one monitor.

Yes, try deleting your config.ini file and then rerunning vendetta.
If that still doesn't work, try using a lower video resolution.
Do this by editing the config.ini file (if you don't have one, run vendetta and it will create one)
and there will be something like this:
xres=640
yres=480

change it to something smaller that your computer suports, maybe 512x384?

4 megs isn't a lot for vendetta, but it should still work. I check for a minimum of 4 megs, and if there's not enough, it would print "Not enough total VRAM for drawable and textures" in the errors.log file.

512x384? The last game I played at that resolution was Grand Theft Auto 1 on my old PC

Andi, what are the specs for your computer (or at least the model)? It may be helpful. I got a completely different error when I tried to run it on my 233 MHz iMac.
Mar 13, 2003 Andi link
hmm...
The only video resolutions I can choose are 800X600 and 640X480.
specs of my computer:
iBook 300MHz
160MB SDRAM
ATY,RageMobilityL 4MB

Hmm, my sister has a 300MHz iBook too, I'd need to install osX on it and test it.
Mar 17, 2003 Andi link
hmm...the new version doesn't work, too. I'll have to wait until you've tested it on you sisters iBook, raybondo.
Mar 17, 2003 raybondo link
Yeah, I still haven't been able to do that yet. It's on my todo list though.

*bump*

Sorry, I wasn't able to use my sister's ibook. She sold it instead. I will have to put more verbose error strings in there to see exactly what happens.

Well, I still want to try to figure out why it happens. It just may take a while.

I used to have a 300mhz ibook and i believe that os x doesn't support its graphics card very well. For instance on my iBook i could not even start the game : giants because it said that i have no 3d graphcis acceleration installed. So basically i thinik there is no way to run it as there is no support for such an onld video card... sorry :/ though i may be wrong
