doshaders

The doshaders problem has nothing to do with 10.3.5. Its a hardware/driver issue across all macosx version. I have the latest and greatest macosx version and it still doesn't work with my hardware. No, I don't know either how you can detect it properly. Just wanted to let you know that your current fix will not work.

Yeah, 10.3.5 doesn't really fix anything. Unfortunately, I also have to agree that it's a widespread problem on all Macs, whether it be hardware, drivers, or OpenGL. Other games that contain pixel shaders on the Mac exhibit the same problems. At the very least the good news is that it'll be off by default. That my clear up some confusion for newbies who don't like (or know how) to rummage around their config files.

It was my understanding it will be off for pre-10.3.5 only. That means it will default to on for 95% of the people. That will cause a lot of frustration. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Yeah, unfortunately it will only be off by default for <10.3.5. 10.3.5 will have it on.
Oh well.

Well, I guess we'll have to patch it for the retail release to completely disable shaders on the Mac, and let people selective try turning it on themselves. 'Tis a bummer. I wish we could have gotten this problem sorted out with Apple. Never heard back from their engineers on it..

Hey, this is Apple. You can consider yourself lucky you didn't hear back from their LAWYERS.
