Yea I got that too. Tosh is right, just lower your detail level.

Yeah, I just fixed that bug on Wednesday I think. The fix will be in the next update. For now, set your background detail higher. I think the highest setting will make it work. (Options->Game->Background)

I have problems of textures in the S 14; the stars form squares white.
For the remainder of the sector 14 it's not perfect.
The other sectors are run fine

this problem is usually solved by decreasing the level of detail of your background.
you can find it under "options>graphic"
